Mr. Bronson E. Jones, Jr.
Administrator
B.S. Physical Education, Towson College
Masters in Administration and Supervision, McDaniel College
 

Mr. Jones, our school administrator is in his fourth year at CLS.  Mr. Jones was a teacher for Carroll County Public Schools in Taneytown for 18 years before becoming an administrator, serving Northwest and East Middle schools for another 18 years.  Mr. Jones also currently serves as the Physical Education teacher here at CLS.   He is married with two grown daughters, and enjoys gardening, jogging, sports, and spending time with family.  Buck and his wife are members of St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church in Manchester, and they are both active in a training program for newly engaged couples.  They are the proud grandparents of three grandchildren.

 
Mrs. Gina Claxton
Office Manager
 

Mrs. Claxton has worked in administrative assistant roles for many years, most recently as an instructional assistant at Carroll County Public Schools.  She is married with two children, ages 17 and 14.  Gina, her husband, Tom, and their children are very active in their church, Hampstead Baptist.  Gina leads the children's choir, and sings in both the adult choir and solo ministry.  Her interests include music, children, and her family.  Mrs. Claxton also serves as the music teacher for grades 3-8.

 
Mrs. Janet Shrader
Kindergarten
B.S. Early Childhood Education, Towson State University
 
Janet Shrader joins us for her second year at Carroll Lutheran School.  Prior to CLS, Mrs. Shrader was a teacher at Little Friends of Grace Christian Preschool in Westminster for six years.  She is a member of Grace Lutheran Church and lives in Westminster with her husband and two daughters.  In her spare time, Mrs. Shrader enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, sewing and needlework.

Mrs. Jane Drozinski
First Grade
B.A. Special Education, Hood College
Masters in Education in Reading, Loyola College
 

Mrs. Drozinski is in her seventh year at Carroll Lutheran School.  She brings 15 years of classroom teaching experience from her positions in Baltimore City and Carroll County Public Schools.  In between teaching opportunities, Jane was a stay-at-home mother to her three children and husband of 25 years.  She is an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hampstead where she chairs the Mission committee  and teaches Sunday School and VBS.  Jane also enjoys reading historical fiction, vacationing, and attending her church's youth mission trips. 

 
Mrs. Janet Hatkin
Second Grade
B.A. Sociology, Salisbury University

B.S. Early Childhood Education, Georgia Southwestern State University

 

Janet Hatkin joins us for her second year as our second grade teaher.  Prior to CLS,  she was a substitute teacher for Carroll and Frederick counties and taught third grade in Georgia for six years.  In her spare time she likes to read, travel and attends agility trials with her daughter and dogs.  Mrs. Hatkin and her husband Josh live in Taneytown with their daughter.

 

 
Mrs. Joyce Rost
Third Grade
B.A. Elementary Education, Ohio Northern University
 

Mrs. Rost joined Carroll Lutheran School in 2000, having previously taught at Ryan Private School in Virginia.  She has substituted in Carroll and Baltimore Counties.  Joyce enjoys cross-stitch, puzzles, music, and reading.  She attends Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester where she is involved in several areas including vacation bible school.  Joyce lives in Hampstead with her husband Richard, two children, and their dog.

 
Mrs. Gretchen Jensen
Fourth Grade
B.S. Elementary Education, Towson University
Masters Candidate, McDaniel College
 

Before joining Carroll Lutheran School, Mrs. Jensen taught for 8 years at St. James Lutheran School and 5 years at St. Peter's Christian Day School, both in Baltimore.  She is in her sixth year at Carroll Lutheran School.   She is married, has three children (two in attendance at our school), and lives in Manchester.  Their family is active at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Hampstead.  Gretchen enjoys spending time with her family, reading, camping, swimming, and rollerblading.

This is Mrs. Fetchko’s first year teaching at Carroll Lutheran School.  She brings 35 years of teaching experience, 27 of which were in Carroll County Public Schools, to her position as fifth grade teacher.  Prior to that Mrs. Fetchko taught in North Dakota on Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation.  Shirley and her husband Greg live in Hanover, PA.  They have two daughters and three grandsons.  In her spare time, Mrs. Fetchko enjoys painting.

 
Miss Jessica Morelock
Middle School
B.S. Elementary Education, Penn State
 

Miss Morelock joined CLS in the fall of 2005. She attended Penn State and spent her student teaching experience abroad in England. Jessica lives in Westminster and attends Grace Lutheran Church. With friends all over the country, she loves to travel, then to scrapbook her trips. In her free time, Miss Morelock loves to read and spend time with her family.

 

Ms. Paula Rowe
Middle School
B.S. W Michigan University
Masters in Education, Pennsylvania State University
 
Ms. Rowe joined Carroll Lutheran School in 2006 and continues her position as a middle school teacher, having previously taught science and math for over 20 years in Montgomery County.  She lives in Westminster with her husband John and has two grown children and one grandchild.  She enjoys riding her horses and gardening in her spare time.

Mrs. Angela Henry
Resource

Masters Candidate, Reading Education, Towson University
 

Mrs. Henry joins us this year as our new resource teacher.  Most recently, she taught first grade in Baltimore City, where she was the co-chair of the Gifted and Talented Education Program at her school.  Mrs. Henry lives in Manchester with her husband David and her children (two in attendance at CLS).  She attends St. Pauls Upperco and, in her spare time, enjoys reading, cooking and taking spanish classes.

Mrs. Kathy Dillon

Instructional Assistant

 

This is Mrs. Dillon’s first year with our school.  She lives in Hampstead with her husband Skip.  She and Skip have two sons and two grandchildren.  Mrs. Dillon splits her time between CLS and Little Friends of Grace where she has worked as an Instructional Assistant for six years.  Mrs. Dillon will be assisting in the Kindergarten room this year. In her spare time, Kathy enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and reading.

Mrs. Emily VanHorn
Librarian
 
This is Mrs. Van Horn's third year as librarian at Carroll Lutheran School.  Mrs. Van Horn was a business major in college. She currently resides in Westminster where she lives with husband & daughter and works part time as a Legislative Aide for a local State Delegate, as well as an Independent Sales Rep for an art fund raising company. She previously taught  the 2-3 yr old Sunday School at her church and teaches VBS each summer. She enjoys spending time with her family, photography and swimming.

Mrs. Helen Kemp
Spanish
 
This is Helen's fourth year at CLS teaching Spanish.  Helen is a very creative person.  She loves to sew.  She also knows sign language which she often teaches the children.  She and her husband have been very active in their church, Pleasant Grove United Methodist, for 30 years.  She sings in the choir, teaches Vacation Bible School, serves as a sexton and much more.  She does a bueno job for us!

Mrs. Lexi Schafer

Music

 

This is Mrs. Schafer’s second year teaching music to our Kindergarten through second grades.  Lexi is wife to Pastor David Schafer from St. Benjamin’s where our school was housed for many years.  She and her husband live in Westminster with their two daughters, both students here at our school.  She and her husband are very active volunteers in our school and Lexi is the Administrator of our Capital Campaign.

Mrs. Colleen Spoonire

Physical Education

 

Mrs. Spoonire is in her third year teaching Physical Education to our older elementary school students.  She and her husband Chris are active volunteers at Carroll Lutheran School.  They live in Westminster and have one daughter who is in third grade at our school.

 

Mr. Chris Harper 

Physical Education

 

Mr. Harper is in his second year at Carroll Lutheran School.  Along with Mr. Jones, he teaches our younger grades of physical education.  Mr. Harper and his wife, Kelly, live in Hampstead with their two children.  Their daughter is in Kindergarten here at our school.
